Not sure what to do with your child for a whole week at home during Thanksgiving Break?

What about a day camp?   Day Camps provide free play and structured activities while letting children make new friends and perhaps even learn a new skill.   Of course, Mom, we know you could probably use a break with some time for yourself too!

Allen

Basketball Camp with Daniel Orton of the Orlando Magic. 24 hour Fitness, 510 Watters Road. Camps will be held Nov 21 – 23.   Young Ballers Sessions, 8:15 a.m-10 a.m. This session is for young players from grades 1st through 6th grade. Areas of Emphasis: Ball-handling, Shooting, Passing, Competitive Games.   Advanced Ballers Sessions, 10:45a.m-12:30p.m. This session is for players from grades 7th to 12th grade. Dallas

Oil and Cotton Art Camp, 837 W. 7th Street in Dallas. For ages 5 to adults. Try out a variety of studio art techniques, mediums and styles. In each camp, students will learn skills then use them to express their creativity in unique arts and craft projects. Our fall camps yield lovely holiday gifts for grandparents, teachers, family and friends. Adults can take camps and enjoy the ease of a “kid” class while getting messy with happy kids. Art House, 2608 Long Prairie Road. Camps are for ages 4-12 and take place on Tues. November 22. The morning camp is about Pastel Drawing – Pastel still life drawing “Pumpkin Landscape” Learn to Draw, shade, and use artist quality soft pastels to create a ready to frame masterpiece, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. The afternoon camp is Canvas Painting – Over the River and Through the Woods…Paint a scenic Fall scene on 8×10 canvas using acrylic paint. Holiday Camp at Bowles,   Bowles Life Center, 2750 Graham St.   Monday Nov 21 – Wednesday Nov. 23 from 7 a.m.-6 p.m., $16 per day for children ages 5-12. Thanksgiving Camps, City recreation centers will offer a holiday camp for children in grades K-5 on Nov. 21-23. A variety of activities will be offered including arts and crafts, gym games and field trips. Campers are asked to bring a sack lunch each day, except for Cimarron Recreation Center participants.
