Mattel released it’s 2026 Day of the Dead Barbie! Since 2019 Mattel has released a new Day of the Dead Barbie every year and the new one is here! Each Day of the Dead Barbie is beautiful and celebrates the Dia De Muertos as well as its traditions, symbols, and even rituals. Every Day of the Dead Barbie has it’s own traditional dress that has been embroidered and the lovely make up is also festive and beautiful. And the 2026 one is no different!

Day Of The Dead Barbie Details
This Barbie, like the others, is a collectible doll. She is wearing a beautiful, puffy, deep red gown. The gown is a deep red with beautiful white, almost skeletal and floral embroidery. Her hair is down this year, beautiful and flowing. She is also wearing a calavera mask with red flowers and is wearing silver and pearl jewelry with pink and purple gems.
Day Of The Dead Barbie Accessories
This year she is wearing a white calavera mask. It’s white with black designs. Near the forehead and eyes it does have red designs. On the side beautiful red roses. There are three roses on each side.
She is wearing jewelry once again. It’s not overly crazy or flashy. She is wearing a pearl necklace and what looks like silver earrings. Each have a pendent that looks almost like opal with the flecks of white, pink, and black in it. The necklace sits on black lace that covers her shoulders and neck.
This year her sleaves are short and puffy, her dress has a lot of poofiness to it. But her arms and hands are covered in black lace gloves.
And we can’t ignore the elegant slit in her dress and her tasteful black heels that really ties the dress together.
Day Of The Dead Ken Doll
As you can see, Mattel even brought out a Day of the Dead Ken doll to accompany Barbie. He is wearing a tasteful black and red coat over his black shirt and pants. The black shirt and pants have white embroidery that looks skeletal. He is wearing a black top hat with a white ribbon, and red roses on it. He is wearing a calavera face mask with black designs. His hands also have calavera paint on them. Ken is sold separately, but both dolls compliment each other and look ready for Dia de Muertos festivities.

What Is Day Of The Dead?
The Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday where friends and family honor their loved ones that have past. The holiday starts on October 31 and ends on November 2.
Families and friends will gather together, pray, and enjoy food. They will visit cemeteries and decorate the graves of their late loved ones with alters called ofrendas. You can see good depictions of this in the movie Coco or The Book of Life.
More Day Of The Dead Barbies
Mattel first released the Day of the Dead Barbie in 2019. And like all the later Barbies, it is gorgeous. She wore a floor length black dress that was embroidered and had a marigold and butterfly headband with face paint.
Each year the Day of the Dead Barbie was released, but a little different and a little more intricate than the last. The 2020 Barbie wore a beautiful lace dress with embroidery, gold jewelry, with colorful flowers in her hair.
In 2021, Barbie wore a traditional dress that was embroidered with flowers and sugar skulls. She wore a crown of marigolds with skulls alongside a twisted hairband.
Even More Day Of The Dead Barbies
The 2022 Day of the Dead Barbie is so colorful. She had a ruffled dress with royal purple and printed skeletons and flowers and she dawned a cempasuchil flower and rose and headband as well as a calavera face painting as well.
2023 Barbie wore a vibrant pink dress embroidered with flowers and skulls. She wore a headband of monarch butterflies and had lovely gold jewelry and a metallic calavera face painting done in rose gold.
The 2024 Barbie had a gorgeous black gown embroidered with colorful sugar skulls and designs. Her headband represented marigolds and stood out against her pink sugar skull jewelry and colorful calavera face painting.
The 2025 Barbie had a beautiful white gown with gold embroidery and pink, yellow, and orange ribbon. There were also marigolds on the dress. Her tiara had marigolds, and beautiful gold jewelry pulling the attire together along with her beautiful calavera face painting.
