The steps to make this colorful and shape themed bird craft are super simple to follow.

Step 1

To make these chickadees*,  cut the following shapes from the construction paper:

  • 1 large oval (chickadee body)
  • 1 medium oval (chickadee chest)
  • 2 large triangles (chickadee wings)
  • 1 small triangle (chickadee beak)

*Quantity listed is per chickadee

Step 2

To assemble the chickadees out of shapes start by gluing the medium sized oval onto the large oval.

Step 3

Now is a great time to add the googly eyes!  What shape are the eyes? Glue them on just above the medium oval.

Step 4

Then, glue the small triangle with the point down just under the eyes. It should slightly overlap the oval (chickadee chest). Now your cute little birdy has a beak made out of a triangle.

Step 5

For the wings, simply glue the large triangles along the sides of each chickadee “body”.  Wings look like triangles.
