- Markers
- Scissors
- Glue
- Paper
- Popsicle sticks
- Any decorations you have that could be used to decorate the nest! You can go on a scavenger hunt to collect natural materials from outside, or use leftover supplies from previous projects!
Steps to create Bird nest puppets
Create the bird pupppet
The first part of this art project is creating the bird. Using a piece of paper, cut out a circle or oval shape. Then you decorate the bird by giving it eyes, a beak, and wings, then you can glue the bird to the popsicle stick and add any other decorations such as feathers or buttons!
Create the nest from a paper plate
The next part to creating this art project is creating a nest for the baby bird to live in! With half of a plate, allow the kids to decorate the plate to look like a nest. Encourage them to make the nest really cozy and warm for the baby birds with scraps and leftover materials from previous projects. You could also use natural materials from outside to make it extra fun and engaging! Once the nest is decorated the puppet is finished and you can play with the puppet and create a story about baby birds!

Instructions
- Cut out a circle or oval shape for the bird.
- Decorate the bird with markers or other materials.
- Glue the bird to a popsicle stick and add feather, buttons, paper scraps, etc.
- Cut a paper plate in half.
- Decorate the plate with the gathered materials to make a cozy nest.
