Sometimes the best kids Halloween costumes can be made out of a box. That’s why we are so excited to work with Amazon Prime to share this Video Game Supply Drop costume made from an Amazon smile box!
We use Amazon Prime for tons of items at our house — fast, free shipping is a lifesaver when you don’t want to have to drag kiddos to the store. Sometimes, we even get free one-day shipping. In fact, we’ve had so many packages lately that we had a bunch of Amazon smile boxes to choose from.
With just a few other simple craft supplies, we had simple, creative costume that my son was excited to show off to his friends.
Since our Boxtume was for an older kid this year, we used a larger Amazon smile box.
Video Game Supply Drop Costume
Here’s what you need to make this Video Game Supply Drop Costume:
- Amazon smile box
- Dark blue paint
- Yellow cardstock
- 36” yellow balloon
- Box cutter
First, you’ll need to paint the outside of your Amazon smile box blue. This is the main box of your Supply Drop.
Then, print our Supply Drop Printable on the yellow cardstock. Cut out each letter, then use the decoupage to adhere the letters to the front of the box. Coat in a thin layer of decoupage to protect the design.
Once the decoupage has dried, use the box cutter to cut holes in the top and bottom of the box, leave a two-inch border around each hole.
Inflate the yellow balloon with helium and use the black ribbon to tie it above the Supply Drop box so that it looks like a parachute.
Use the elastic to create straps to hold the box around your child’s waist.
Now your Supply Drop costume is ready for action!
My son was so excited to show off his costume to his friends. You can show off your own creativity by sharing photos on social media using #Boxtumes and #Amazonprime.
