Directions to make Christmas tree Cheese Ball recipe This Holiday Season
Step 1
Place the cream cheese in a large mixing bowl and beat with a hand mixer until it is smooth and creamy.
Step 2
Add the shredded Borden cheese and other ingredients. Combine with the mixer.
Step 3
Cover the inside of the funnel with saran wrap and spoon the mixture into it, pressing tightly to form the mixture into a cone shape. Place this delicious appetizer on a serving plate, you don’t want to have to move your cheese log…erm tree later. It’ll be difficult.
Step 4
Press the almonds and parsley leaves into the outside of the cone so that it resembles a tree.
Step 5
Refrigerate your homemade cheese ball for 4 hours to set. Allow to soften and serve with crackers.
Notes:
If the cream cheese is too rich, try adding some delicious greens to it to break up the richness. Green onions would be a perfect mix in it! When my mom made the classic cheese ball at Christmas, it always had green onions in it.
You can add different things to your cheese ball mixture to make different flavors. Like garlic or bacon bits!
Variations to CHRISTMAS TREE Cheese ball recipe
This is the best Christmas Cheese Ball recipe and it is sooo good! I won’t lie, I ate much more of it than I probably should have. It’s savory and rich with a fresh herb element that is also pretty.
However, not everyone can have nuts. If that is the case then you could use other things like black olives, mushrooms, or any other savory vegetable, or bacon bits! Yum!
Also, mix it up! Instead of crackers try pretzels! Pretzels also go very well with Christmas cheese balls.
Pita chips would also go very well too. The extra crunch with the savory dip is the perfect snack!
Trying to watch your calories? Dip vegetables in it! Green pepper sticks, carrot sticks, celery are perfect substitutes!

Notes
Not everyone likes sharp cheddar. On it's own it does have a sharper taste, but in this Christmas cheese ball recipe it helps give the cheese tree a more complex taste. The flavor of regular cheddar will get lost.
You can use other cheeses too like parmesan cheese. I'd also be willing to swap out all the extra cheese and try a goat cheese as well.
