Summer vacation is a great time to spend time with the kids. But sometimes going somewhere is too expensive and sometimes being outside is just too hot. But these fun ideas will help you keep cool despite the rising temperatures.
Some are edible, some are activities, and some the whole family can enjoy together! We have so many fun things you can do to beat the heat this summer and even avoid heat-related illness due to the extreme heat.

Fun Ways To Stay Cool This Summer
1. Family Balloon Fight

We have a big list of 24 summer outdoor games for family fun, but I think number 4 is my favorite! Have an epic water balloon fight. You can even make easy DIY water balloon launchers.
2. Sponge Water bombs

Here is another big list of summer activities to keep you cool. I like number 5. You can make sponge water bombs. You can then play with them tossing them to each other and even playing hot potato. Who knew sponges could be so much fun?
3. Pour Water Practice

We have a great list of water play ideas. Number 14 if perfect is you have little kids. This is the perfect practice and way to keep cool. Let them pour water into different sized containers. Trust me, your little one will end up drenched so this is an outside activity! You could use plastic beakers, cups, pitchers, anything would work.
4. DIY Car Wash

6. Slip And Slide

I remember spending the summers playing with my sisters on a slip and slide! It’s so much fun, kids get to cool off while playing outside. It’s a blast.
7. Water Sprinkler

Another way we kept cool as kids was running through the sprinkler! You can get wet, run, have fun, and enjoy a sunny day instead of staying inside.
8. Water Table

Have little ones? Then this water table is the perfect way to play with water, play with toys, and explore the world around them.
9. Water Guns

These water guns are the perfect way to stay cool. Run around, shoot water at each other, and let the water battle begin. Whose gonna win? My sisters and I used to love these.
