Storing Your Homemade Cotton Candy Ice Cream
This homemade ice cream is very soft and melts quicker than store bought ice cream. Store the leftover ice cream (if there is any) in an air tight container in the freezer. Try to limit the amount of time that this ice cream is left out on the countertop!
Cotton Candy Flavoring can be found in the baking section at most craft stores, or in the candy
making area.
How Long Does Homemade Ice Cream Last in the Freezer?
Homemade ice cream doesn’t have all of the preservatives that store bought ice cream does. It is only meant to last for a month or so in the freezer. The air tight container will help prevent crystals from forming.
What’s The Difference Between Churn and No Churn Ice Cream
The biggest difference is whether one contains eggs or not. Most no churn ice creams call for sweetened condensed milk rather than granulated sugar.
This is because the mixture is never heated and the sugar wouldn’t dissolve fully. You would essentially have grainy ice cream.
With ice cream you churn, you actually heat the egg, heavy cream, sugar mixture. That way the sugar dissolves.
