First, you will need to paint the bottom of your child’s foot! This is such a fun sensory experience for kids!
Tip: Do this part outside, then you can simply wash their foot with the hose!
As the footprint is drying, cut 2 thin strips of craft foam in whatever color you desire. When the paint from the footprint is dry, invite your child to cut around their foot in the shape of a shoe. Glue the two strips of craft foam to the footprint to turn it into a foot on a sandal! Decorate the sandal with colorful beads!
Next, glue the sandal onto a piece of sandy colored paper, painted canvas, or cardboard (use the back of a cereal box). Invite your child to cut shells shapes from the craft foam, then cover them in glitter.
Last, write Summer of 2016 (or whatever year you desire) on the paper.
So adorable, right? Keepsake art is a fun gift for grandparents, too!
