  1. Hermes is the messenger of the Greek Gods.
  2. Hermes is the god of many things, such as; herds and flocks, travel, hospitality, roads, trade, thievery, trickery, heralds, diplomacy, language, writing, athletic contests, gyms, astronomy, and astrology.
  3. Hermes is the son of Zeus and the pleiad-nymph Maia.
  4. Hermes is the guide of people that have passed on, he ensures their souls make it to the underworld.
  5. Hermes invented the musical instrument called the lyre.
  6. When he was a baby, Hermes stole Apollo’s sacred cattle. Apollo told Zeus, but instead of getting angry at Hermes, Zeus thought it was hilarious that a baby stole a whole herd of cows!
