Best Christmas Paper Plate Wreath

There’s nothing more fun than making your own Christmas wreath. Not only are they lots of fun, but you also don’t require fancy craft supplies: a simple paper plate, red pom poms, and a red bow are all you need – plus other simple supplies you can get in the Dollar Store.

My favorite part is that there’s no wrong way or right way to do paper Christmas wreaths. Kids of all ages will have so much fun while making these easy Christmas crafts because they don’t need too much guidance: younger kids will work on their fine motor skills, while older kids will find this craft relaxing and inspiring. And for adults that like making their own Christmas decorations, this is the way to go.

So without a doubt, it’s a simple way for children of all ages to have fun with a festive Christmas activity!

SUPPLIES NEEDED TO MAKE A PAPER PLATE CHRISTMAS WREATHS

  • Green and red construction paper
  • paper plate
  • green marker
  • glue
  • scissors
  • red pom poms
  • free printable (link at the bottom!)

INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE PAPER PLATE CHRISTMAS WREATH CRAFT

Step 1

Cut out the center of the paper plate to create a paper plate ring.

Let’s start!

Step 2

Color it green with the marker.

Now let’s paint!

Step 3

Grab the green construction paper and fold it in half.

Grab your green construction paper.

Fold the sheet of paper!

Step 4

Fold in half again.

Fold again to create this accordion.

Step 5

Follow the creases as a cutting line until you have multiple green strips.

Follow the creases to cut through them.

You’ll have 6 green strips.

Step 6

Flip over the paper plates.

Let’s make the wreath shape.

Step 7

Glue dots on the plate to glue each paper strip around it and let it dry.

Now, glue all the strips on the back of the plate.

Step 8

Flip it over and glue to the front side (where you colored green). Let it dry. You can use clothes pins to help the process.

Step 9

Meanwhile, use the template to trace the ribbon and the holly leaves and cut them out.

While you wait, cut out the holly leaves and ribbon from the template.

Step 10

Fold the leaves in half and follow the instructions on the template to make the bow.

Step 12

Assemble the wreath by gluing the holly berries and leaves, the red poms and the bow on the bottom of the wreath.
