DIY Christmas origami Ornament
For these origami ornaments, all you need is a pair of scissors, a piece of paper and a ribbon for hanging on the Christmas tree. Kids and adults can sit down in during the holiday season to make these easy Christmas origami crafts and spend a lovely day with the whole family.

Supplies Needed for Origami Ornament
- 2 sheets of origami paper
- 10 inch piece of string or ribbon
- Scissors
- Glue
Instructions to make a Christmas origami ornament craft
Step 1
With the side with the color you want showing facing up: Fold opposing corners diagonally.
Step 2
Flip over.
Step 3
Fold the paper in half.
Step 4
Open then fold the other way in half.
Step 5
Bring corners together, letting sides fold inward at creases to form a square.
Step 6
With the open end down, fold the left and right side corners to the middle forming a kite.
Step 7
Open the kite.
Step 8
Invert the left corner according to the creases.
Step 9
Flip over and repeat.
Step 10
With the open end down, fold the left and right side corners to the middle forming a kite.
Step 11
Open the kite.
Step 12
Invert the right corner according to the creases.
Step 13
Invert the left corner according to the creases.
Step 14
Fold the bottom corner up, creasing between the two corners on the side.
Step 15
Following the same crease, reverse the fold to tuck the corner to the inside.
Step 16
Flip over and repeat.
Step 17
Fold the bottom corner up, creasing between the two corners on the side.
Step 18
Following the same crease, reverse the fold to tuck the corner to the inside.
Step 19
Open the left and right sides, turning 90 degrees to fold flat then repeat.
Step 20
Fold the bottom corner up, creasing between the two corners on the side.
Step 21
Following the same crease, reverse the fold to tuck the corner to the inside.
Step 22
Flip over and repeat. Fold the bottom corner up, creasing between the two corners on the side.
Step 23
Following the same crease, reverse the fold to tuck the corner to the inside.
Step 24
Fold the bottom right corner up so the edge aligns with the vertical crease in the center.
Step 25
Fold the bottom left corner up so the edge aligns with the vertical crease in the center.
Step 26
Open and push the bottom right corner to the inside according to the creases.
Step 27
Open and push the bottom left corner to the inside according to the creases.

Flip over and repeat.
Step 29
Fold the bottom right corner up so the edge aligns with the vertical crease in the center.
Step 30
Fold the bottom left corner up so the edge aligns with the vertical crease in the center.

Open and invert the bottom right corner to the inside according to the creases.
Step 32
Open and invert the bottom left corner to the inside according to the creases.

Open the left and right sides, turning 90 degrees to fold flat, then repeat.

Fold the bottom right corner up so the edge aligns with the vertical crease in the center.
Step 35
Fold the bottom left corner up so the edge aligns with the vertical crease in the center.
Step 36
Open and invert the bottom right corner to the inside according to the creases.
Step 37
Open and invert the bottom left corner to the inside according to the creases.

Flip over and repeat on the last side. Fold the bottom right corner up so the edge aligns with the vertical crease in the center.
Step 39
Fold the bottom left corner up so the edge aligns with the vertical crease in the center.
Step 40
Open and push the bottom right corner to the inside according to the creases.
Step 41
Open and push the bottom left corner to the inside according to the creases.
Step 42
Stand upright and fan out the sides evenly, forming the first half of the ornament.
Step 43
Repeat the entire process with the second sheet of origami paper to form the second half of the ornament.
Step 44
Fold the piece of string or ribbon in half, then tie a half knot near the end.
Step 45
Snip the tip top of one ornament half to make a small hole in the top.
Step 46
Thread the folded end of the string through the hole from the inside, so the knot is on the inside supporting the ornament half. Note: you can glue the knot to the inside top of the ornament to secure it.
Step 47
Line up the inside faces of each half ornament. Apply a small drop of glue to the faces of one half ornament and press together with the corresponding face from the other half.
Step 48
Hold or clip until glue dries.
Step 49
Once dry, your ornament is ready to hang on your Christmas tree!
