Back to School Pencil Vase Craft
You’ll want to use adult supervision with younger kids for this craft, because a hot glue gun is involved. My elementary school age child did well with this craft and enjoyed the precision involved in adding the pencils with a glue gun.
Supplies Needed to Make Pencil Vase Craft
- 15-20 No. 2 pencils with erasers
- 1 clean and dry tin can (sand any sharp edges)
- Hot glue gun with glue sticks
- Something to fill the pencil vase craft with (silk flowers, candies, treats, gift cards, etc)
Directions for DIY Pencil Vase
Step 1
First, hold a pencil perpendicular against the tin can so you can see where you need to put the glue on the pencil.
Mark with a pencil or marker if you need to. Eraser goes towards towards the bottom, if your pencils have erasers.
Step 2
Next, run a bead of glue along one edge of a pencil in a straight line.
Step 3
Immediately press against the tin can. Press for a few seconds.
Step 4
Repeat with the remaining pencils.
