Back to school shopping is just around the corner! I know you’re probably dreading it as much as I am, or maybe you enjoy it. Nonetheless, we have a great list of school supplies that you can get ahead of time and avoid long lines and save a few dollars. Back to school shopping doesn’t have to be horrible!

Every year, come July and August I feel like I’m running around like a mad woman trying to get all the school supplies my kids need together. It can be a pain sometimes. But I know it’s important because my kids need a great education to get further in life, so it makes it worth it in the end.

So, while I was shopping for school supplies, I decided I should help other parents out! So, I put together a great list of school supplies that you can get now to save time and money later. And the best part is, you can get some of this stuff on sale during Amazon Prime Day which is July 16-17. Make sure you check out all of their deals, you’ll never know what you may save on! School Supplies For Kids
1. Pens
My kids always need pens for school. They generally need black, red, and blue. Some of these packs and have assortment of colors so they have neat and fun colors while they’re taking notes.
2. Mechanical Pencils
Mechanical pencils were the coolest thing when I was growing up. And I still think they are cool. Some kids prefer them and others prefer old fashioned wood pencils. Either way, you can get what your child is comfortable with.

3. Number 2 Pencils
Kids need pencils for school. I don’t know about your kids, but my kids run out of pencils often. Whether they lose them, break them, lend them out, I’m constantly buying pencils. This saves me from that.
4. Pencil Cases And Crayon Boxes
Keep all your kid’s stuff together using a pencil case or crayon box. This way they won’t lose their pens, pencils, markers, etc.

5. Subject Notebook
Gotta take notes, do homework, write papers and this 5 subject notebook with dividers can help you do that for each class.
6. Scissors
Gotta have some scissors for school! Both my younger kids and older kids need scissors for school. And I love that most of them come in a pack, because that leaves me with a pair at home.
7. Highlighters
Older kids will generally need highlighters to highlight important things in notes, books, and papers.
8. Coloring Supplies
Kids, particularly preschoolers and elementary aged kids, will need coloring supplies. Though you may find your older kids need them too for art class, history, and geography.
9. Folders and Binders
Keep organized with folders, pockets, and binders. These are a great way to keep information for each class organized and a great way to keep up with homework.

Kids will need things like backpacks, lunchboxes, water bottles, and all that good stuff! And luckily there are so many great ones to choose from!
Backpacks
Backpacks are a must have come school year. And while I like to reuse backpacks, a lot of time they end up so beat up after the school year there is no saving them. So, every so often we have to get new ones. Which the kids love! And your kids will love these super cute backpacks as well.
