Welcome to our origami pumpkin tutorial! Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just starting out, this step-by-step guide will help you fold your very own adorable pumpkin. Grab your square piece of paper, a marker, and let’s get started!

Origami, the ancient art of paper folding, is not only fun but also a great way to improve your concentration and creativity. Plus, it’s a fantastic activity for kids of all ages as well as adults! It doesn’t have to be Halloween for us to make an origami pumpkin, so let’s get started!
Materials Needed:
- One square sheet of paper
- Black marker or pen
Step 1
Start with a square piece of paper.

Step 2
Fold the paper in half diagonally, then open it back up.

Step 3
Fold it in half diagonally again in the other direction, and open.

Step 4
Flip the paper over, and fold it in half lengthwise, then open.

Step 6
Fold it in half in the opposite direction, but this time, keep it folded – don’t open it!

Step 7
Squash the left and right sides together to create a smaller square shape. It takes a bit of practice but I’m sure you can do it!

Step 8
Fold the bottom right corner to the middle line.

Step 9
Fold the top right corner to the middle line as well, on top of the previous fold.

Step 10
Flip that section to the left side.

Step 11
Flip the paper over. We’re halfway there!

Step 12
Repeat steps 8 and 9 on the left side.

Step 13
Open up the layers from the back so that the two last folds are on top.

Step 14
Flip the paper over.

Step 15
Fold the right corner inward, about one inch in.

Step 16
Repeat the previous step on the left side.

Step 17
Fold the bottom corner inward too. We are almost done! Yay!

Step 18
Repeat the previous step on the top corner.

Step 19
Fold the top corner again, this time outwards – this will be our origami pumpkin’s stem!

Step 20
Flip the paper over one last time, and using your black marker or pen, add a smiley face and other details!

Your origami pumpkin is all ready to brighten up your space! Try making a whole patch of pumpkins in different sizes and colors. You can use them to decorate your room, create a festive centerpiece for Halloween, or even give them as cute little gifts to friends and family.
