Are you ready to make a no-sew Very Hungry Caterpillar costume? It’s so easy to make this simple, but colorfully fun Very Hungry Caterpillar costume. Kids of all ages know the beloved children’s storybook, and now they can pretend to be their favorite caterpillar. This no-sew Very Hungry Caterpillar costume is a great craft to go alongside the story and can be done at home or in the classroom.
Very Hungry Caterpillar Costume Craft
This Very Hungry Caterpillar Activity is a perfect way to keep the fun going after the book is read {even if for the 1000th time!}. It is a no sew costume that is easy for parents and fun for kids creating a fun Very Hungry Caterpillar activity!
Every year in Australia, schools and preschools celebrate book week and have book parades where children are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book character. I think this annual tradition is awesome.
I also think that a no-sew costume is awesome.

How To Make This Easy and Cute Very Hungry Caterpillar Craft
Step 1
Cut out the various shapes for the mask. Green and yellow circles for eyes; purple antennas; and red circle for the face.
Step 2
Using the hot glue gun, join all the various pieces together. (With super close supervision, I let Mr N and Mr M have a go with our low-temp hot glue gun. This was fantastic – here they were making their own costumes for the Book Parade! Now there’s a family tradition I’d like to keep up.)
Step 3
With all the pieces of the mask glued on and secure, make two small slits on the side of the mask.
Step 4
Thread some elastic through these holes and secure it so it fits well when the mask is worn.
Step 5
Pair this no-sew hungry caterpillar face mask with a green top and green pants and you’ve got yourself a Very Hungry Caterpillar.
No sewing required. So easy that kids can make it too. Awesome.
