I’m a firm believer that it’s never too early for Christmas. Especially this year. I’m also not the best green thumb, despite my best efforts. But why not embrace it and turn something dead, like mums… into something beautiful and festive?
That’s what one mom on Facebook shared, and the idea is super fun and cute.
Brittany Mitchell suggested taking dead mums and decorating them for the holidays. Sure, we still haven’t had Halloween yet, but I’ll take all the holiday spirit I can get.
The idea is easy peasy. Simply spray paint the dead mums and then decorate them with Christmas tree decorations. Voila! Since the plant is already dead, it’s sure to last the whole holiday season long.
At the time of this writing, Mitchell’s idea has racked up an impressive 72,000 shares.
Other decorators and DIYers have suggested this idea in the past as well. After all, it’s a cool way to make something old new again… and it’s a fun project to boot.
So now the only question is: is it too early to start decorating for Christmas?
Not quite ready to decorate for Christmas? Dead mums can be turned into Halloween decorations too as Kristin LeDuc, owner of the Porch Nook, shares.
