Instructions for making a mermaid paper bag puppet

Step 1
Add the facial features for your mermaid to the section of the paper bag that is folded over. Use glue to attach googly eyes and a pom pom nose, and then cut out pink cheeks. You can also use a marker to add your mermaid’s mouth. I actually forgot to do this until the very end.

Step 2
Use a circle cutter or scissors to cut out circles from blue, purple, and aqua paper. Glue them into place in a patter across the bottom of the brown paper bag.

Step 3
Sketch a shell shape onto a piece of paper and then use that as a template to create two identical shells for your mermaid. Glue them on and then decorate them, along with the tail with glitter glue.

Step 4
The final step for your mermaid is to give her hair. Cut lengths of yarn, tie them together with ribbon, and then glue the top section into place.
