Do your kids miss the hot days of summer? Mine do! Help your kids daydream of warm days even more with a unique gift this Holiday, Mermaid Tails!
Swimming is one of our favorite summer activities – really, in Texas we swim from April to October, so it’s not to far in the future before we will be hopping back into the pool.
Thanks to Fin Fun for sponsoring this post and giving my girls a mermaid tail to enjoy.

Healthy Exercise Activity
The highlight of last summer for was a mermaid tail. My daughter and her friends swapped tails all summer long. I went to the pool with a timer, when it would ring, two more kids would wear tails. To say these tails were loved is an understatement.
I’ll admit it, I was nervous. The tails look like they would be difficult for kids to swim in but kids have an intuitive sense – and within seconds my daughter and her pal were expert mermaid swimmers.
Instill Confidence while Swimming
While swimming in the tail your kids can engage with an alternate self. They become the mermaid inside the tail.
It’s precious.
Video tape your kiddo swimming and you can upload it to You Tube to be part of the collection of “Mermaid Sightings” found worldwide.
They have a cute “newscast” set-up that features some of the uploaded videos – use the hashtag #mermaidsightings for a chance to have your own video featured on their channel.
Dream Big and Imagine
Each of the colors of Fun Fin tails come with a story – they are a character that your kids can relate to and endeavor to become once they put the tails on.
Your children can read about the life of the mermaid they are pretending to be – maybe they can even write a sequel to the story based on their experiences swimming as a mermaid.
The Mermidens have all sorts of adventures!

Thanks for this post! I grew up in a house full of girls, so teenage boys are a bit of a mystery to me. As an adult I am the only female in my house–even the dog is a boy!–so this gave me some insight about what to expect when Tommy hits his teens. Thanks!
