Christmas is one of my favorite holidays: there’s magic everywhere, delicious food, and fun family time that you don’t get any other time of the year.
Our love for Christmas made us create these Christmas fun facts that you can print out as either a full-color sheet pdf or the black and white version that doubles as Christmas coloring pages!

Let’s learn some cool facts about Christmas!
- The origin of the use of Christmas trees goes way back to ancient Egyptians and Romans.
- Santa Claus initially wore clothes that were in green, purple, or blue, that was until Coca-Cola decided to dress him up in colors that match their brand, and that stuck… That’s why he wears red now!
- Alabama was the first state in the US to have recognized Christmas as an official holiday, back in 1836!
- The largest Christmas present ever given is the Statue of Liberty! It was gifted by France to the USA as a Christmas gift in the year 1886.
- “Jingle Bells” was originally a Thanksgiving song!
- And since we’re talking about Jingle Bells, did you know that it was the first song played in space?
- Americans spend an average of $967.13 for the holidays, but of course, individual spending varies widely.
- The first Rockefeller tree was a 20-foot tree with no ornaments or lights that was set up by construction workers who were laboring at the center’s construction site.
- In Germany, Poland, and Ukraine, finding a spider or a spider’s web on a Christmas tree is considered good luck.
- The first Christmas card ever sent is worth almost $30,000.
