For fans of everyone’s favorite yellow sponge, the next several months are shaping up to hold some great things for SpongeBob Squarepants and his friends.
Later this year, the SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run is releasing direct to streaming for fans to enjoy. And now, we are learning that the new SpongeBob spin-off tv series will also be streaming at some point next year.
Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years will debut on CBS All Access in 2021, and we can’t wait to see it.
The new series features a 10 year old SpongeBob at a sleepaway camp for the summer. He and his friends will spend their days catching jellyfish, building camp-fires, and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck at Kamp Koral in the Kelp Forest.
The CG-animated prequel will feature favorite characters from the original SpongeBob series.
Viewers will meet a young Patrick Star, Squidward Tentacles, and Gary the Snail. Kamp Koral, we discover, is where SpongeBob first meets Patrick and Gary. There’s also two new characters who join the cast–Nobby and Narlene, a pair of narwhals who live in the woods surrounding the camp.
