How To Make Unicorn Poop Cookies
Step 1
Mix up the sugar cookie dough according to the recipe or package.
Step 2
Divide dough equally into smaller bowls. You need one bowl for each of the gel food colors, so if you use four dyes like we did, then you will need four bowls.
Step 3
Stir the food dye into the bowl and let it chill dough in the freezer for about 30 minutes. I covered it with plastic wrap.
Step 4
Take out your dough and split it up into cookie sized pieces. Now you can sort of mix the dough together so it looks like a rainbow swirl. Don’t overmix, or you will end up mixing all the pretty colors together.
No rolling pin needed! No cookie cutter needed!
Step 5
Roll it out into a snake and spin it around until it looks like a piece of poop. Place each spiral onto your baking sheet filling the baking sheet until you can slip it into a pre-heated oven.
Step 6
Bake according to package directions and add the sprinkles! Happy decorating…
We found it best to use wire racks for cooling the unicorn sugar cookies after baking.

How to Store Your Unicorn Cookies
If you have any leftovers, you can store your unicorn poop sugar cookies in an airtight container for several days.
Can I Use Frosting On My Unicorn Poop Cookies?
You can if you want! It will cover up some of the rainbow colors, but you could whisk some up in a large bowl or using standing mixer. Or I believe you can also buy unicorn frosting. Either way, I’m sure there will be many joyful smiles eating this colorful (and oddly named) sugar cookies.
Can We Decorate Our Unicorn Poop Cookies Differently?
Of course you can! Use nonpareil sprinkles if you want. Colorful sugar or Wilton’s sparkle gel! These are your cookies, you can make them anyway you want. If you wanted to, you could even change these unicorn poop sugar cookies and add rainbow chocolate chips to make them extra special. These are fun cookies and should be treated as such! A fun sweet treat you can customize anyway you want.
