{Best Blog} Living Montessori Now
This week's pick for our best blog feature is Living Montessori Now.
We are featuring an interview with Deb today and rounding up some of our favorite Living Montessori Now posts this afternoon. Kids Activities Blog is so excited about our best blog series. We are hoping to introduce you to some sites you won't want to miss!
Best Blog
Living Montessori Now is our best blog which shares activities on the Montessori principles and methods in Montessori schools, traditional classrooms, homeschools, parenting, and life in general.
Living Montessori Now
We are interviewing Deb today to find out about the mom behind Living Montessori Now.
Why did you begin blogging?
I ™ve always enjoyed writing. In early 2010, my husband read about a blogger from Colorado Springs and thought blogging would be something I ™d like. He was right!
What do you hope to inspire in the parents who read your blog?
I hope to inspire the desire in parents to follow their children’s interests and needs. I hope that many parents will want to use Montessori principles at home, whether in creating a Montessori-friendly home or in starting Montessori homeschooling. I also hope to provide encouragement to anyone who homeschools regardless of the educational method they use.
What is it like to live in your home?
My two children, Will and Christina, now 28 and 23, were homeschooled through high school using Montessori principles and unit studies. They both have bachelor's degrees, wonderful spouses, and successful careers now.
What are your kids favorite activities?
My husband and I always loved to follow our kids ™ sports as they were growing up. Will and Christina started out in skiing and then became intensely involved in figure skating, eventually becoming international figure-skating medalists. Our whole family had amazing experiences through our kids ™ interests.
What is important to YOU as a blogger?
My main blog is LivingMontessoriNow, but I also blog at Bits of Positivity where I share motivational quotes, word-art freebies, inspiration, encouragement for families, ways to make a difference, and posts about gratitude and raising kids with good character. My husband and I co-founded SpringSnowPublications, our publishing company. My husband writes most of the blog posts there, but I write a post occasionally and update the Facebook page with blogging and writing inspiration. I also blog on the 15th of each month at PreKandKSharing.blogspot.com.
What is your advice to readers?
My advice is that you don't have to perfect. I was far from perfect in my homeschooling, yet my kids loved homeschooling, received straight A's throughout their bachelor's degree programs, loved their university experiences, and still have a love of learning. You can read more about my imperfect homeschooling on my blog and how it really wasn’t a problem.

Living Montessori Now has been an amazing source of inspiration to me since we started home schooling. Deb has such a kind and thought filled approach of communicating thoughts and ideas in such a meaningful, useful way. I was actually online looking for LMN and found this post. I’m happy I landed here! I will check out some new (to me) blogs listed!
