Mama Smiles

We are interviewing Mary Anne today to find out about the mom behind Mama Smiles. Why did you begin blogging? I began blogging when I was home with two little kids, and most people reacted with sympathy. I wanted to show the ways in which being a stay at home mom was fun! What do you hope to inspire in the parents who read your blog? Hopefully my blog inspires and gives readers some simple ideas of making the most out of childhood as  it all flies by so quickly. I try to focus on fairly simple ideas that do not take unusual materials or a lot of work. What is it like to live in your home? In our home we have a six-year-old daughter, a five-year-old son, a three-year-old daughter, and a baby girl. Mama Smiles What are your kids favorite activities? I have two, one is mess free art and the other is a sensory wall mosaic art project.  The great thing about both activities is that they don’t take a lot of set-up, they can be left out for days on end without too much worry, and they are nice ways for kids to create while quietly chatting. What is important to YOU as a blogger? My”Exploring Geography” series is very important to me! Stop over and check it out. What is your advice to readers? My advice is to make the most of precious moments – a child grabbing hold of your hand for comfort, or two little ones engaged in pretend play. I also want to share that when you feel frustrated or angry, count to ten and really LOOK at their faces – this helps me feel empathy for their point of view.
