Our Experience Making Ovaltine Rice Krispie Treats

All through my childhood, my mom would make cookie plates to give away through the holiday season.   She would make 3 or 4 different kinds of cookies so all the plates had variety.   Each year she would try a new recipe and some years it would become a staple on the cookie plate, and sometimes it would disappear never to be made again.

  1. our greatest holiday memory is every year cooking christmas cookies with the kids. I have one specific picture of my son who was about 2-3 at the time with flour all over him and crying because I guess his sister was allowing him to roll the dough….he looked so cute!!!

    1. Christine! You are the winner of this giveaway! I am emailing you right now to get your contact information to forward to the good folks at Ovaltine! Congrats!

      1. That’s SO awesome! I can’t wait! I told the boys and they’re as excited about getting goodies in mail as I am lol.

  2. One of my childhood memories is going Christmas caroling with my youth group. Afterwards we would have hot choclate and some sort of treat (cookies, etc). It was always freezing (in Mid-MO) and we always managed to have a good time. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I remember my grandma overcooking the pecan pie (that she always made for my uncle) and it was so hard that the dog wouldn’t even eat it! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. My Mom always made Christmas magical when I was a child. I remember the excitement of bringing out the ornaments, the awe of the lighted tree in a darkened living room… My favorite memory is from a time of being old enough to know that my parents were Santa, and that money wasn’t growing on trees. I will always remember the thrill of seeing a brand-new ten speed bike under the tree on Christmas morning. How they managed such a wonderful Christmas for three girls all of those years, I’ll never know.

  5. Since we were little my sister and I fought over a shiny apple ornament and who would hang it. The tradition goes on, as we steal it from each other’s tree and send pictures of it on our own tree! I still swear it’s mine ; ).
