Our Experience Making Ovaltine Rice Krispie Treats
All through my childhood, my mom would make cookie plates to give away through the holiday season. She would make 3 or 4 different kinds of cookies so all the plates had variety. Each year she would try a new recipe and some years it would become a staple on the cookie plate, and sometimes it would disappear never to be made again.

My holiday memory would be lying down under the Christmas tree with my sisters… we looked up and watched the various lights of the tree shine… It was one of the most relaxing and happy moments of my life ever.

First of all, I LOVE Ovaltine! And so do my kids! A holiday memory…I remember helping my grandpa decorate the Christmas tree. He was such a perfectionist about certain things, and the tree was one of them. It took forever to get the lights just right. He would stand back and scrutinize the ornament placement and make me re-arrange everything. At the time it was pretty frustrating, yet I still looked forward to it every year. And now looking back, I love those memories!

One of my favorite Holiday memories is decorating the house for Christmas, especially the Christmas tree. We get a new ornament each year. It is so fun to pull out the ornaments and remember all the great memories associated with them!
A favorite memory of the Christmas holidays was lying under the Christmas tree and squinting to make the likes look like prisms. Also, my sister and I watching out the window for Rudolph’s red nose and Santa’s sleigh, when we’d see a red light in the sky (probably just a plane) we’d run to bed and pretend to be asleep so Santa would come to our house, lol!
