Strawberry Dessert Lasagna
We are eating at home a lot more often now, and that means celebrating special occasions at home, instead of going to a restaurant.
The good news, is that it doesn’t have to be difficult to make restaurant quality desserts! (This post contains affiliates)
This dessert is essentially a no bake strawberry cheesecake, and it’s perfect for any event–from a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner, to a Sunday night with your family. I love that this isn’t a bake strawberry lasagna, something light, cool is perfect after dinner.
Cheesecake layer, strawberry layer, and whipped topping on the top layer. Yum! This is such an easy dessert recipe.
I mean, you can also sit down by yourself with a fork…we won’t judge! {giggle}

How To Make Strawberry Dessert Lasagna Crust
Step 1
Grab your food processor (or even just a good quality blender) and let’s go!
Step 2
Crush cookies in food processor into fine crumbs. Don’t want a sweet cookie crust? Make a graham cracker crust.
Step 3
Add to large bowl.
Step 4
Melt butter in microwave safe bowl.
Step 5
Add to cookie crumbs and mix well with a rubber spatula or a wooden spatula. Melted butter will help keep the crust together once it gets cold.
Step 6
Press into 13×9 glass dish.
Step 7
Place in refrigerator to chill at least 30 minutes.
Making the First Layer Of Strawberry Dessert Lasagna
This tends to be the step my kids actually want to help with, since they can lick they mixer beaters after *sigh* haha!
Step 8
Cream together softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
Step 9
Stir in 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping until smooth. You can make your own whipped cream using heavy cream if you don’t want to use store bought whipped topping, but whipped topping is more fluffy.
Step 10
Spread over crust.
Step 11
Place in refrigerator to chill at least 30 minutes.
How to Make The Second Layer Of Strawberry Dessert Lasagna
If you want to use pre-made Jell-O move ahead a step or two to where you mix the Cool Whip in!
Step 12
In a large bowl, stir boiling water into gelatin for at least 2 minutes until gelatin is completely dissolved. You can use any type of instant pudding Jell-O. s
Step 13
Add ice cubes to cold water to make 1 cup, stir into strawberry mixture.
Step 14
Stir until gelatin is thickened and remove any unmelted ice cubes if necessary.
Step 15
Fold in 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping until completely smooth.
Step 16
Stir in chopped strawberries. Sweet strawberries is crucial for this recipe. Want it more chunky? Sliced strawberries instead of diced strawberries will give you bigger bites of strawberries.
Step 17
Place bowl in refrigerator for 20-30 minutes to thicken.
Step 18
Spread over cream cheese layer.
How Do You Make Gluten Free Strawberry Dessert Lasagna?
It is SUPER easy to make this into a gluten free dessert!
Start by locating a gluten free strawberry gelatin. (You might have to buy the already prepared Jell-O cups).
Instead of using golden Oreos, replace them with a similar gluten free cookie, such as Glutino gluten free vanilla creme cookies, or Kinnikinnick Kinnitoos vanilla sandwich cookies. If you cannot find a decent gluten free cookie substitute, try crushed gluten free graham crackers, or crushed gluten free pretzels, instead!
As always, double check that your packaged ingredients state that they are gluten free, to be safe.
Vegan or Dairy Free Strawberry Dessert Lasagna
This gets a little trickier, but it’s not impossible to make a vegan or dairy free version of strawberry dessert lasagna.
To start with, you will need to find a plant based cool whip product. I have seen a couple of almond milk ones at Whole Foods. If you can’t find one in store, there are recipes online to make your own.
There are many different brands of vegan cream cheese at most grocery stores.
You will need to locate vegan gelatin (regular gelatin is an animal product). There are vegan brands, such as Natural Simply Delicious strawberry jel dessert (purchase online).
Also, you will need to find a substitute for the golden Oreos, as they are not vegan. The Kinnikinnick Kinnitoos vanilla sandwich cookies (listed above in the gluten free paragraph) are dairy free, and htey do not list any animal ingredients, but they are not marked as being vegan–so you might have to do a little bit of searching to find a vegan certified option. Or, you can try another type of vegan cookie, instead!
If you want to use chocolate curls for the topping, select a vegan chocolate bar, and then carve shavings off of it!
