Do your kids need to bring a box or bag to school to collect valentines? If so, this frugal craft is for you! Created with a paper lunch bag, colored paper, and glue, this craft is fun for kids of all ages.

If you wish, skip the wiggly eyes and invite kids to draw their own creative expressions on the heart. And of course, the color of the paper can be changed too, giving kids several opportunities to be expressive and creative.

Supplies Needed To Make This Festive and Fun Valentine Bag Craft

To make this craft you will need:

• paper lunch bags
• pink and purple cardstock or construction paper
• scissors
• tacky craft glue
• large wiggly eyes
• black and red markers or colored pencils

How To Make This Super Cute Paper Valentines Bag

Step 1

After gathering supplies, cut out 1 large heart from the paper.

Step 2

Invite kids to draw a face on the their heart.

Step 3

Cut out 5 strips of paper, folding 4 of them into small accordions.

Step 4

Glue the accordion folds to the back of the heart. Glue the entire heart to the paper bag. Trim the top of the bag with scissors to match the outline of the heart.

Step 5

Create a handle for the bag by gluing the last strip of paper to the inside of the bag.

Step 6

Allow the bag to dry completely before using. Make sure that kids write their names on the front of the bag.

Kids go around and put in a Valentine’s day gift may be it be a card, candies, plush toys, gold hearts stickers, or whatever small treats. They were having a Valentines day party at school and I remember using paper bags and tissue paper when I was in school for a super basic one, but I wanted them to have an extra special Valentines day bag. Plus, a handle is always nice to help them carry their Valentine goodie bags as they can get quite full.
