We are so excited to share these Thanksgiving craft ideas with you. These are great ways to teach your child about Thanksgiving and keep them busy in a festive way.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year – I think an attitude of gratefulness is so important to cultivate in ourselves and our kiddos. Here are just a few of the craft activities I hope to do soon with my kiddos.
Turkey with Thankful Feathers
This turkey with thankful feathers is simple to make and only requires construction paper, markers, and glue. It’s a great way to teach children about the different blessings in their lives.
Thanksgiving Tree
This Thanksgiving Tree is such a great family activity that could quickly become a yearly Thanksgiving tradition. Add leaves to your tree with different things that you are thankful for.
Handprint Turkey Lunch Bag
Look how cute this Handprint Turkey Lunch bag is. It is simple and great and can be a festive way to send your child lunch!
Thanksgiving Wreath
Make a Thanksgiving Wreath out of painted clothespins. Label each “pin” with something you have been blessed with. It is a great way to countdown to Thanksgiving.
Toilet Paper Roll Turkey
Toilet Paper Roll Turkey is a craft kids can make easily. This Turkey is that simple to make. Fill each finger with something you are grateful for.
Thanksgiving Candles
Dipping your own candles will give you plenty of time to discuss with your kids different things that you both are thankful for. See if you can come up with something you are thankful for each time you “dip” – and they double as great tabletop decorations!
Thankful Paper Chain
I am Thankful Paper Chain. These are simple enough for even the youngest tykes to participate! I think it would be a fun icebreaker activity. Each day add a chain of what you’re thankful for.

Your ideas are wonderful! Like Kate above me said already, we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving over here in Australia, which I think is very sad. It is such a wonderful way to give thanks for all of our blessings and your kid’s ideas would no doubt make the whole celebration more meaningful for kids.
If you have 5 minutes to spare please pop over to my blog and check out my weekly Pinterest linky party. I would be so thrilled if you could join in and link up this post!
Best wishes,
Natasha.
We don’t celebrate thanksgiving in Australia but these ideas are great!
Love all of these ideas! I’ve been collecting Thanksgiving ideas myself. I love the thankful tree!
love, love, love, love, love these ideas. I could say I love them again but it is probably getting annoying, but seriously… awesome! My fave is the yarn turkey.
I was so excited to find this blog with activities organized by age…but all the links at the top I was so excited about (Preschool, Middle School, etc.) don’t seem to work. The only links working are Advertising and About Us.
Great Collection! I can’t wait to visit your pin interest:) Thanks for sharing!
Great POST! Thanks 😉
The clothes pin idea is genius!
