Edible Playdough Variations

You don’t just have to do peppermint patty scented playdough. You could have chocolate or vanilla. Cotton candy. Almond. There are so many great food grade and food safe essential oils that you could use.

And one kiddo doesn’t like the taste of marshmallows (honestly, I don’t either), so we dug out our candy oils. These little jars are potent. We have a collection of flavors ranging from root beer, to raspberry, and cotton candy.

Our friend said they wanted peppermint. The best decision ever! The dough tasted just like the insides of a peppermint patty. Yummy! Addictive!!

This Edible Playdough Recipe Is Very Sweet… and Fun

You don’t want your kids to eat this much sugar, but if you have a sweet tooth like I do, you’ll want your kids to wash their hands really well before they make it so *you* can snack on the dough over the next few days once they are done playing with it!

If you don’t like chocolate or peppermint, you can easily change the flavor using other extracts like almond, vanilla, butter, etc.

How To Store Your Edible Play Dough

The dough keeps for 2 to 3 days if in a sealed zip lock baggie.   It will become hard if exposed to air for too long (but still, really, really tasty!).

You know you want a batch all to yourself!!
