My mother surprised me with a handcrafted tea set from Poland. I have teacups from around the world, this was such a special gift to me and my girls! What a better way to celebrate a warm afternoon (love Texas weather) than by having a hot chocolate party to christen in our tea set, together.
I think my girls are developing a love of chocolate and “parties” too!
We made hot coco cake to accompany our beverage. Our Hot Chocolate cake is the *easiest* cake recipe you’ll ever need. My 7 year old made these mini-cakes in under 2 minuets a piece. We call them Hot Chocolate cakes as you cook them up in a mug and they taste just like our favorite beverage!
Make 2 Minute Hot Chocolate Cake
The Cake Mix:
- One Box of Angel Food Cake
- One Box of Brownie Mix
- One-half cup of coco powder
Mix all of the dry ingredients together – store the dry mix. We use two quart mason jars to store the mix.
You can have a cup of togetherness whenever you want!
Making the cakes:
Spray a mug with oil. Add 1/8 cup of water to the mug and 1/4 cup of the dry mix. Stir well. Microwave it for 1 minuet. Let it sit for one minute after you pull it out of the microwave.
You have cake!
These are so tasty!
This is such an easy recipe it is almost too good to be true 🙂 Chocolate cake for snack time? Count me in! Thank you for sharing and for linking up this week to the Thoughtful Spot Weekly Blog Hop.
No doubt this would be a huge hit – thanks for linking up at After School!
This sounds delicious!
Looks awesome and so easy! Pinning!
Great to “meet” you on craft schooling Sunday, and love this post. Gorgeous tea pot gift, and love that you took the cakes out of the mugs, great call! Now I just have to find a way to re-interpret your cake mix ingredients without a mix, mixes are very expensive here (and quite new actually) so it’s not worth it. All the best!
Thank you so much for the easy and quick recipe! I am in love with your beautiful blue and White dishes. Came from Saturday Sparks, you are featured there and me too, lol! Enjoy your weekend.

Yum! Hot chocolate is one of our favorite drinks of the winter season so we can't wait to try this recipe ourselves! This is a great and quick recipe to try out with family and friends during the holiday vacation. We will be tweeting your hot chocolate cake recipe to our followers from our Twitter account, @OncorPML. Thanks for sharing!
I tried these and they turned out like Pudding or like a fallen cake, help. Is there a certain angle food mix or brownie mix you are to use, or maybe the microwave setting.
