Costco. We absolutely adore Costco and how you can save money on electronics, groceries, household essentials, furniture, clothes, toys, more toys…oh, and did I mention toys?

Costco is awesome. I can spend hours and hours in the Costco Wholesale Warehouse!

I love Costco but I’d be lying if I said that every time I walk out, I only leave with 1 thing…

I often go in with my membership card for a few things and leave with an entire basket full. It’s like the curse of good deals at Costco.

The Costco cart is calling my name…!

But did you know that there is a trick to saving even more money at Costco? And honestly, it’s been in front of you the entire time you held a membership card, you probably just didn’t notice.

The Trick To Saving Money at Costco

The @purewow Instagram account shared this little tip:

“If a tag ends in 99 cents, it’s full price and will most likely be there when you come back. But if the tag ends in 97 cents, that means it’s discounted,” she says.

Look for the price ending in 9!

Look for the price ending in 7!

Costco’s Pricing Secret

Most items sold at their original Costco price end in a 9, but those that end in a 7 (or a 0, we discovered after doing some additional research) are manager markdowns.

So look for items that end in the last number 7 or 0.

Translation: This is a Costco sale!

Shopping Costco just got easier!

“And that asterisk means it’s going to be discontinued,” the hack-sharer adds in the Instagram Reel.

So, aside from checking the price, REALLY checking how the number in the price ends, can quickly determine if it’s something you should buy right away or wait on — keep that membership card handy!

So watch for the 7 or 0 and an asterisk—all three are sure signs you’re getting a deal.

Genius, right? I don’t think I would have ever figured this out myself even with hours and hours of “research”…I mean, Costco shopping!

Please tell me that I am not the only one that didn’t know this about Costco until now?
