What Color is a Rooster?
Roosters are very different in their appearance from hens or baby chicks. And roosters vary drastically in color from each other. In general, a rooster has a black or brown/tan body feathers, and different coloring on the neck feathers. The tail feathers can be a completely different color or a blend of the body colors. Color the iconic red crest on the top of a rooster’s head and the wattle (flaps of red skin that hang from the rooster’s neck).
