This sun craft makes an especially cute refrigerator magnet if you place a strip of magnetic tape to the back. My kids like playing with it and moving all the clothespins to the top of the circle to make the sun look like it has hair!

- black colored pencils
- yellow Dot Art marker or yellow paint and paint brush

Directions To Make Clothepin Sun Craft
Step 1

This part is so fun! Kids will get a kick out of dying wooden clothespin with a yellow Dot Art marker.
Simply place the clothespins on a paper towel and invite kids to press the dot marker onto them. The paper towel will catch the ink that doesn’t absorb into the wood.
Alternatively, and a little more messy: kids could paint the clothespins with yellow paint.
Step 2
As the clothespins are drying, invite kids to create their circle with the paper punch or by tracing a round object.
We used a circle paper punch to make the base for our sun, but you could also invite kids to trace a small bowl or old CD.
Step 3

Press eye stickers or wiggly eyes onto the paper, then invite kids to draw a mouth on their sunshine with a black pen and crayons or a colored pencil.
Step 4

Show kids how to squeeze the clothespins onto the yellow circle to make it a sunshine!
