3 Ingredient Dairy Free Cream Pie

Are you searching for a Dairy Free Cream Pie.  Our kiddo has a dairy allergy, so we know first hand how difficult it can be to find “dairy free” and “cream pie” used together in one recipe.

While she loves the idea of an ice cream pie the rashes and tummy sicknesses just aren’t worth it. For her birthday this year we decided to get creative. Luckily, we didn’t have to do anything too crazy. This simple pie only has 3 ingredients! She was thrilled with her special dessert and we were able to find an easy way to make treats that are safe for our entire family!

3 ingredient dairy free cream pie

To make this 3 ingredient dairy free cream pie, you’ll need:

  • 1 Bag of Marshmallows
  • 3/4 a bag of Chocolate Chips (if you truly need dairy-free, check the ingredients of your chocolate chips, a few brands do add milk products)
  • 1 Packet of unflavored gelatin
  • 1/3 cup of water
  • Graham Cracker Crust – here is a dairy-free recipe for graham cracker crust.

 How to make creamless pie

Place water and marshmallows in a saucepan. Melt the marshmallows into the water using medium heat. They will become puffy and smooth as they melt.

When this happens, you know it is time to  add both the chocolate chips and the gelatin, mixing as you go.

Stir the mixture constantly until the lumps disappear and the color becomes uniform.

Pour your warm, melty mixture into the crust.

Let it cool in the fridge, and serve when your (ice) cream pie is nice and cold!

3 Ingredients – but you can mix and match

In addition to the magic of making a dairy free cream pie, the versatility of this recipe makes it really fun as well! For example, We used a mixture of dark chocolate and Andes Mint Chips for a chocolate/mint flavoring that our daughter loves. For other tastes, you can create your own combinations based on the seasons or your own personal favorites. Use vanilla,  chocolate, coconut, mint or any combination of these! The possibilities are really endless, which is extra exciting in the world of food allergies!

This would make any dairy-free child’s day as you serve their very first dairy free cream pie!
