Every Thanksgiving we like to journal the things we are most thankful for. I love how this month helps us cultivate an attitude of gratitude in our kids, our families and ultimately our hearts.
Thanksgiving is my *favorite* holiday!!
Last year we made a thanksgiving tree where we added leaves each day with things we are grateful for. We still have our leaves from last year. It is fun to see the transformation of our priorities as we compare what we are thankful for year to year.
- Free Thanksgiving Printable – print it out on cardstock
- Clean Tin Can
- Orange Paint
- Brown Paint
- Googly Eyes
- Paper Bag – Rip it into pieces
Glue the scraps of the paper bag to the sides of the can. Coat that with glue. When it dries add the wings and embellishments.
Paint the feet, tail feathers and the beak orange. Fold the beak and glue half of the beak down so that your turkey has a mouth. Paint the wings brown.
Glue googly eyes and paint some eyebrows over them.
Fill your Thankful turkey can with pencils and pens. Every day sit down and journal – what things are you most thankful for?
Your kids will love to hear all the things that they do which make your heart happy.
