My family loves to eat molasses cookies, especially when I make Burnt Macaroni’s recipe for Grandma’s Molasses Cookies! This delicious cookie recipe is perfect for the holiday season!
Ingredients Needed To Make Grandma’s Molasses Cookies:
- A cup, plus 3 Tablespoons Butter, softened
- 1 -1/4 cups sugar, divided
- An Egg
- 1/4 cup Molasses
- 2 1/2 Cups Flour
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
- 3/4 teaspoon Ground Cloves
How To Make Grandma’s Molasses Cookies:
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and 1 cup of sugar.
- Blend in the molasses and egg.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and cloves and add to creamed mixture.
- Mix until well blended.
- Shape dough into a ball about 1 1/4 inch.
- Roll balls in remaining sugar and place on silicone lined baking sheet, or use parchment paper.
- Press flat with a fork.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cookie sets.
- Remove from pan and place on cooking rack, sprinkle additional sugar if desired.
2. Mexican Wedding Cookies
Delicious nutty cookies that are rolled in powdered sugar. These are perfect for any special occasion.
Ingredients Needed To Make Mexican Wedding Cookies:
- 1 cup Butter, softened
- 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar (plus a little extra for rolling)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 1/4 cups Flour
- 3/4 cup Pecans, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
How To Make Mexican Wedding Cookies:
- First, preheat the oven to 400 degrees, and then prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Next, in a large bowl, mix butter, ½ cup powdered sugar, and vanilla. Then, stir in the nuts and salt.
- Add flour to mixture a little at a time.
- Shape the dough into 1-inch balls, and then place onto the lined cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cookies set.
- Remove and allow the cookies to slightly cool.
- Roll the cookies in additional powdered sugar.
- Serve.

- 1 1/2 cup Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 2/3 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
- A cup of M&M’s
How To Make Chocolate Chocolate Chip Holiday Cookies:
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Soften butter in pan.
- In a large bowl, beat the sugar, eggs, butter and vanilla until fluffy.
- Add the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt until it’s well blended.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and M&M’s until blended.
- Using your hands, make round balls with the dough and place on cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until set. The time will depend on how big the cookies are.
- Take out of oven and place on wire racks to cool.
4. Sugar Cookie Christmas Truffles

Ingredients Needed To Make Sugar Cookie Christmas Truffles:
- 12 Pre-made Sugar Cookies
- 3 Tablespoons Cream Cheese, softened
- 2 cups White Chocolate Chips, melted
- Christmas Sprinkles
How To Make Sugar Cookie Christmas Truffles:
- Use a food processor to grind the sugar cookies until fine crumbs form. I have this food processor and it works like a charm every time. If you don’t have a food processor, you can place the cookies in a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to crush the cookies.
- Add cream cheese and pulse again until the “dough” comes together. If the dough is still dry, try adding a teaspoon or two of milk.
- Use a cookie scoop to scoop the “dough” into 1-inch balls. Roll and put on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Freeze the cookie truffles for 15 minutes.
- Melt white chocolate, or candy melts. Dip truffles in the melted chocolate, place on parchment paper and add sprinkles if desired.
