My family loves Homemade Chicken Fajitas! It’s so yummy that everyone will be asking for seconds. Don’t think you have to purchase “fajita seasoning” either–our recipe includes all the seasonings that you need to make fajitas and you probably already have them in your spice cabinet too.
These chicken fajitas are even better when you use our No Fail Tortilla Recipe for delicious, homemade soft flour tortillas.
Homemade Chicken Fajitas are perfect for when you need a quick and yummy meal that you’re sure your family will love. You can double or triple the recipe if you need to serve guests or a crowd. Try this recipe with beef, if you prefer.
Homemade Chicken Fajitas
- 2 large chicken breasts, cut into strips
- 1 onion, julienned
- 2 green bell peppers, julienned
- 4 Tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tablespoon garlic salt
- 1 Tablespoon paprika
- 1 Tablespoon ground cumin
- 2 Tablespoons chili powder
- for topping: fresh chopped cilantro, sour cream, guacamole or avocado slices, pico de gallo, etc
In a heavy skillet over medium high flame heat 2 Tablespoons olive oil. Saute the onion and bell peppers just until they begin to soften. Remove from heat and set aside in a medium bowl.
Using the same skillet, heat another 2 Tablespoons of olive oil. Add chicken and spices and saute until chicken is cooked all the way through and no longer shows any pink. Add onions and peppers and cook for an additional minute. Remove from heat.
Serve on tortillas and top with your favorite additions such as chopped cilantro, sour cream, guacamole, etc. Serve with rice and beans for a complete meal.
