Crayon Freckles

We are interviewing Andie today to find out about the mom behind Crayon Freckles. Why did you begin blogging? I started blogging as a way to document the activities that my son and I did while I stayed home with him. It was more of a personal endeavor. Being a SAHM can be isolating, so it was amazing to me to find such incredible support and sense of community in the blogging world. What do you hope to inspire in the parents who read your blog? I hope that Crayon Freckles can help parents and educators to think outside the crayon box . There are so many ways that we can connect, interact, and teach children that are outside of the standard ideas. I try to share ways of doing this, usually using items that many have around the house. What is it like to live in your home? I have two amazing children that are as different as night and day. My son, Bear is 4 years old, full of energy, strong-willed, and always has something to say. My daughter, Pip is 17 years old, is quiet, has a gentle spirit with a soft heart. What are your kids favorite activities? We love Playdough. Homemade or bought, doesn't matter, we get kicks out of it either way. It is such a versatile material to do activities with. We are able to add just about any kind of tool, utensil, craft material, or toy to it and create a fun, unique experience. Crayon Freckles What is important to YOU as a blogger? Think outside the box is her motto and that is exactly what you will find on her blog. What is your advice to readers? No matter what others say, what you read, or how you were raised ¦ always follow your gut when it comes to your children.
