We are interviewing Kate today to find out about the mom behind Laughing Kids Learn. Why did you begin blogging? I decided to start this blog as a way of sharing my educational ideas and channelling some creative energy while not in the classroom. I have a teaching background in primary education and have worked with children from a variety of ages. What do you hope to inspire in the parents who read your blog? My philosophy has always been that ‘laughing kids learn’. My blog aims to inspire and support parents in proving their children with cheap, simple and educational activities that can be done at home. What is it like to live in your home? I have one child, aged 1 years old, whom I name ‘Possum’ for my blog. She has become a real hit and famous in her own right. What are your kids favorite activities? My favorite kids activity would be to read a wide variety of books. Our family love it because books can be read by anyone and we can do it where ever we go!

What is important to YOU as a blogger? I share simple, parent-friendly activities for you to do at home with your own children 0-10 years and are easy and subtly educational. Although my blog has been going for only since October 2012, it has grown in popularity very quickly. What is your advice to readers? Parents are a child’s first teacher, however, it’s important that it will never compare to the love they can show them.
