Yesterday I took the older two boys to Six Flags. It was Reid’s (5) first trip to an amusement park. I had a sneaking suspicion that my little adrenaline junkie would enjoy himself. We started in Looney Tunes land with the kids rides.
We then worked our way through the park onto bigger rides. Reid fell in love with the roller coaster. He was interested in riding them all, but at a little taller than 42″ that is not an option.
For the last ride of the day I found one of the bigger coasters that would allow him ridership at his short stature. I sat next to him and heard his happy screams. When it was over I was surprised to turn and see this:
Such a sad face!
“Reid, did that scare you?”
“No mommy.”
“Then why are you so sad?”
“Why can’t roller coasters be longer?”
I ma not sure which is worse; fearless or fearful of everything ? Great shot!
Thats so cute… I love roller coasters, but I guess I better not since I am pregnant!
That’s awesome, I used to say the same thing as a kid! Cute boy.
What a doll.
I hope y’all had a truly fantastic time. Looks like it! I love Six Flags and can’t wait to take the kiddos when they’re bigger. I love his comment, I’ve had that same thought. Great captures.
Does the road from Bryan to Corpus count as a roller coaster? It was like an amusement park ride with screams, bumps, food, funny smells and crying.
Great shots, lady!
I have the same thoughts, cept on the TX Giant. Then I’m just prayin’ my spine doesn’t snap.
WE took our kids to Santa’s Village a few summers back and they rode the Rudoplh Coaster.
OH THE EXCITEMENTS!
Aww. That’s great. I made Puppy take Knute on the only coaster he was allowed to ride at Disney. I don’t do amusement parks well.
That is SO sweet!
When Chic turned 5, I took her to Disneyland for the week. (S will take Chicklet next spring when she turns 5.) California Adventure had a roller coaster than in 3-1/2 days we rode twenty-seven times! There were barely any lines anywhere, so we had a terrific time. She’s tall for her age and could only not go on a couple. She loved everything except Space Mountain (which freaked me out a little too with the flashing lights).
It was one of the best experiences of my life–sharing my daughter’s first roller coaster experience.
I know how you felt!
My older daughter had a similar response to a tilt-a-whirl ride that I thought was going to make ME hurl. She was distraught when it ended, but I couldn’t handle another ride. Kids are so funny!
We had a similar experience with both of our older boys. Such fun to uncover the hidden adrenaline junkie in a little boy.
