We are interviewing Mia today to find out about the mom behind Pragmatic Mom. Why did you begin blogging? Just over 3 years ago, January 2009 is when I announced to the world I had a blog but I started creating content end of September 2008 just to have a dozen posts up. What do you hope to inspire in the parents who read your blog? I am passionate about getting kids to love reading. I also realized when my oldest had a bad year, that we as parents are responsible ultimately for our children’s education. I post excessively on math, science, financial literacy, book club for kids, and lots and lots of children’s books (from picture books through YA). What is it like to live in your home?

GrasshopperandSensei.com is 13-years-old and wants to go to art school. I create art projects with her in mind.
PickyKidPix.wordpress.com is 10-years-old and wants to be a billionaire when she grows up. We talk a lot about money, finance and entrepreneurship together.
My youngest is a boy, age 8-years-old. He is an obsessive gamer so we try to keep him off screens by having him play sports, play guitar, draw and read. We think he is going to grow up to be a video game developer one day though!

What are your kids favorite activities? I love reading with my kids. It’s snuggle time with my kids and enjoying a good story together. When my kids get too old for that, we still love to talk about a good book together and we still read picture books — even the middle schooler will join in to hear an old favorite or check out a new one. What is important to YOU as a blogger? As a blogger you will see blogging on education, parenting and children’s literature. What is your advice to readers? My advice to readers is to let your kids discover their passion.
