This is one of my favorite recipes to make after Halloween, using up those Snickers bars! But this dessert idea is great for any time of the year especially apple season.

With simple pantry ingredients, and very minimal preparation, you will have a dessert that disappears quickly! This reminds me of the classic sweet salads like Watergate Salad, Ambrosia Salad, Grape Salad, Banana Pudding and Candy Bar Salad. Tailor this recipe to fit a vegan diet by making your own vegan “Snickers” bars and vegan caramel!

Vegan Snickers Salad

The original recipe is already vegetarian, but if you are looking for a vegan option, traditional Snickers bars are not vegan, unfortunately.

Here are the steps to making this recipe vegan:

  1. The good news is that it’s really easy to make DIY vegan Snickers bars with an Internet search, Medjool dates, unsalted peanuts, peanut butter, plant based milk, vanilla extract, Enjoy Life dairy free (and vegan) chocolate chips, and coconut oil!
  2. You can also swap out Snickers bars for store-bought vegan candy bars, or vegan candy, like Unreal brand peanut butter cups–the dark chocolate peanut butter cups are amazeballs!
  3. Then, just make your own vegan caramel sauce, buy vanilla almond milk pudding, and dairy-free whipped topping.

It’s soooo good! Yes, you can make it without the pudding, or swap the butterscotch out for vanilla if you prefer. I want to try it with chocolate, too! Let us know what you think after you try adding the pudding 🙂
