Summer in Iowa is a time to get outside and enjoy the amazing weather. We spend our weekends camping all over the state, enjoying great family time, food, and having a blast exploring new places.

One of my favorite parts of planning for our camping trips is to find new camping tips and hacks that make things easier as well as new delicious campfire recipes to make!

The first time we made these campfire brownies, my kids were so impressed and actually said they were the best brownies they had ever had. There’s just something about cooking over the campfire that makes everything better!

How to Make Easy Campfire Brownies recipe

Step 1

You will want to start by getting your fire going and having coals that are red and ready to go!

Step 2

Mix together the brownie mix with all the ingredients the box calls for.

Step 3

Line your dutch oven with the foil AND spray with the non-stick cooking spray.

Step 4

Pour the brownie mixture into the dutch oven.

Step 5

Top with any of the candy you want to have in your brownies!

Step 6

Place the lid on top of the dutch oven and put it into the fire. Place a few of the hot coals on the lid. This will take about 20 minutes to cook but you may want to pull it out and check it to make sure it doesn’t burn.

Note: The cook time varies depending on the heat of your coals.

Sweet Candy-Loaded Campfire Brownies

Camping is so fun! DOuble the fun by making this sweet and easy candy-loaded campfire brownies recipe! Get that sweet tooth satisfied!

Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Box of Brownie Mix with ingredients to prepare
  • Candy – all your favorites! We use M&M’s and Twix

Supplies Needed

  • Foil
  • Non-Stick Cooking Spray
  • Cast Iron Dutch Oven

Instructions

  1. Get your fire lit up and hot coals ready to go.
  2. Prepare the brownie mix according to the box instructions.
  3. Put foil in the dutch oven and spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
  4. Transfer the brownie mix into the dutch oven.
  5. Add the candy toppings!
  6. Place the lid on top of the dutch oven and put it into the fire. Place a few of the hot coals on the lid. This will take about 20 minutes to cook but you may want to pull it out and check it to make sure it doesn’t burn.
