- 1 box red velvet cake mix
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2/3 cup sour cream, divided
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
Steps in making Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies recipe
Step 1
In a medium-sized bowl, mix together cake mix, vegetable oil, milk, and 1/3 cup of sour cream until well blended. Set aside 1/2 cup of batter.
Step 2
Line an 8×8 inch glass baking dish with parchment paper, leaving paper hanging over the edge for easy removal. Spoon remaining batter into baking dish and spread evenly with a spatula.
Step 3
In a small bowl, blend together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and the rest of the sour cream. Add on top of the layer of batter and spread evenly.
Step 4
Dot reserved batter onto the top of the cheesecake layer and swirl gently with a knife.
Step 5
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until the top is just set.
Step 6
Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing it to a wire rack. Let cool completely before slicing.
