Camping At Home: Simple Backyard Fun!
Camping is a great way to build memories with your kids. This Wednesday, at 9pm CST we are participating in a live chat on the KOA Campfire Community all about camping, road-trips and all the fun and chaos we all enjoy in holiday travels. I’d love to have you join us!
.
And you don’t need to “go somewhere” to enjoy making memories with your kids! I love what one of our readers did with her boys. She created a fire pit from an old metal tub, brought out some hotdogs and marshmallows for roasting…
… added a tent and a couple of sleeping bags.
And in her backyard she has two happy boys, making memories they will cherish for a lifetime!
.
Thanks Leigh-Anne for letting us peek in on your fun!
.
Hope you can join us for more tips in the KOA Campfire Community, this Wednesday night 9pm CST.
Prizes at the chat include a $150 Gift Certificate to Cabela’s and 10 backpacks filled with:
– A copy of the Camping Mama game (Nintendo DS)
– A Camping Mama branded backpack & water bottle
– A kit to make smores
– And much, much more!!
Thanks KOA for supporting QM.
What a fun idea. It’s a little cold here to be doing that now but we will be having many backyard camping experiences once the weather warms up.
Would love to see you DIY Home Sweet home.

P.S. I have a linky every Monday. Would love for you to stop by and link up.
Not sure if this is true but I read somewhere that galvanized trashcans and wash tubs and so on are not a good vessel for a fire–something about the zinc and fire together giving off seriously bad fumes?
Don’t know if that’s info coming from a person with a very low threshold for safety concerns or what, but just thought I’d mention it.
Love the idea, though–maybe for an open-air use like this it’s okay?
