Directions to Make Construction Paper Bunny Craft
Prep Step
After gathering supplies, here are the steps to making your own paper bunny! The first thing that needs to be done is to make the cardboard tube the right color for your bunny – cover the toilet paper roll or craft roll with construction paper, cutting to size with scissors and securing with glue.
Step 1
Invite kids to cut ears for their bunny from the construction paper. We used 2 pieces of construction paper to give our bunnies an inner and outer ear.
Tip: You may want to draw ears on a piece of construction paper with a pencil for younger kids to cut out or create a bunny ear template for the entire class.
Step 2
First, glue the two pieces of the bunny ears together and then glue the bunny’s ears to the front of the cardboard tube attaching the bottom of the Easter bunny ears from the inside.
Step 3
Glue a little pom pom to the top of the cardboard tube to make a little nose for the bunny. Draw whiskers and a little smile with a black permanent marker.
Step 4
Next glue 2 wiggly eyes above the bunny’s nose.
Step 5
Last, glue a pom pom to the back of the cardboard tube for the bunny’s tail. We chose a larger pom pom than we used for the bunny nose for the rabbit tail that was the same color as the bunny tube body, but another color would work well too!
Finished Easter Bunny Craft
Our finished paper bunny craft is a simple craft that is easy to convert into a puppet by adding a long wooden craft stick to the inside of the tube. Kids love to make cardboard tube characters for imaginative play.
