DIY Lavender Vanilla Lip Scrub
After a really dry winter, I am so thankful for this awesome DIY lip scrub recipe for my dry lips. My lips have been really chapped, I have really dry skin, and as we know, the first step to moisturizing is exfoliating! Plus, when you start with a smooth surface your lipstick will last longer. This natural lip scrub is really easy to make and only uses natural ingredients!

DIY Lavender Vanilla Lip Scrub
This DIY sugar lip scrub is the best way to get soft lips and get rid of dead skin cells. Just follow the simple recipe to make your own homemade lip scrub – in fact, these make great gifts for the holiday season too!
Some recommendations: We used brown sugar because it’s one of the best sugar scrubs we know, but you might be able to get a similar result with white sugar. You can also try using olive oil or jojoba oil if you don’t have grapeseed oil, and shea butter instead of coconut oil. For really cracked lips, you can add a capsule of vitamin e oil.
An alternative to sugar is coffee. If you like the smell of coffee, you can add coffee grounds as they are a natural exfoliant too – but it probably won’t taste as sweet!
How to use DIY brown sugar lip scrub?
The best thing you can do to get smooth lips is to use a sugar scrub to improve the blood flow, remove dead cells, and get healthy skin around the lips – and you don’t even need an expensive lip scrub! Homemade beauty products work as well as store-bought ones.
Simply apply your natural scrub in a circular motion for 1-2 minutes, rinse it off, and seal it with a good lip balm. You can use it as a daily gentle scrub once a week.
Ingredients to make a moisturizing lip scrub:
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons of grapeseed oil
- 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
- 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla
- 10 drops of lavender essential oil
The Young Living Lavender oil is the best I’ve tried. You can buy a bottle of lavender almost anywhere these days, but most don’t come close to the great quality of this. (We have a really great deal going on for lavender, plus a diffuser – see below.)
