How To Do This Patriotic Rock Painting Craft
Step 1

Paint your rock either red, white, or blue as a base.
Craft Notes:
You may need to build up the coat. Paint 1 layer on the rock, let it dry, and then repeat until the dark rock underneath doesn’t show. Or paint them white, and paint the color on top.
Step 2

For this rock, have a white base and free handed a small blue flower drawing on the rock using a rock pen.
Step 3

We drew 8 blue lines coming off the flower.
Step 4

Now draw 8 red lines between the blue lines.
Step 5

Use the white pen to draw in the blue flower around the middle. We added a white streak to each line and outlined the flower in red.

1. Patriotic Flower

We painted the rock red. Made a blue circle, added white dots, and used the pens to make white petals.
2. Star Explosion

This rock has a blue base with a white star. Red lines come off the big star with little white starts coming off the red lines.
3. Patriotic Hearts

Here we have a white base. We drew 2 hearts, one overlapping the other, the left being blue, the right red with white stripes. We have red dashes around the rock and white dots.
4. Patriotic Bug

Start with a red rock. Draw a black horizontal strip for the head, and a long vertical line for the wings. One side we painted blue with white flowers, the other side red and white stripes. Then we added a smiley face and antennas.
5. Fireworks

I really like this rock. We started with a blue base. Using your pens start from the middle and pull out using less pressure as you make the line. We have white, blue, and red fire works.
6. Hearts and Stars

Another red rock is used here. We made a white heart, white stars and traced the outside and inside of the heart with blue dots.
7. America Is 250 Years Old

To celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we have a blue rock with a white 250 written on it with big red polka dots and small blue polka dots.
8. I Heart America

This one is pretty I think. It’s a white rock with a heart. One side is blue with stars and the other is red and white stripes.
