Our Experience Making Ovaltine Rice Krispie Treats
All through my childhood, my mom would make cookie plates to give away through the holiday season. She would make 3 or 4 different kinds of cookies so all the plates had variety. Each year she would try a new recipe and some years it would become a staple on the cookie plate, and sometimes it would disappear never to be made again.

My favorite holiday memory is the looks on my little kids faces when they saw the presents on Christmas morning.

We do the same thing as your mom. Every year we make a variety of cookies and about 6-7 neighbors do the same thing and then we exchange cookies. Of course the kids are the ones that love it the most!
One holiday memory that carries over to today ~ making the “Crudite” tray for Thanksgiving dinner at my grandmother’s home. I am still responsible for that tradition, and am passing it along to my children. Thanksgiving dinner isn’t complete without olive pimento stuffed celery, black and pimento olives, dill and sweet pickles, and Italian garden mix (especially pickled caulifower). ๐
Every year we attend a holiday open house in a small town. We walk the town square and try treats and collect recipes. It is our tradition and we have many memories since the time my son was a baby and being carried in a backpack and he is now 5.
I tweeted the giveaway.

My favorite holiday memory is making carrot cake with my mom. I was responsible for shredding the carrots — it made my hands all orange for days! I complained the whole time, but the final result was worth it.
One of my favorite holiday memories is getting to help with the cooking in my grandma’s kitchen. All my aunts would be gathered there and there was lots of visiting and laughing. I would peel, core and chop apples for apple salad and soak in all the “womanliness” going on around me. I loved it!
